(HARRISON, AR) - The 1929 Hotel Seville has announced April Strain as their new Director of Sales.  Strain, a 10-year-veteran of the hospitality industry, has been commissioned to join the historic hotel's efforts in strengthening market presence in Harrison and in developing "new" travel to the destination through the positioning of Harrison as the Gateway to the Buffalo River - National Park Region and in recruiting groups to the Durand Convention Center.
Strain will directly responsible for recruiting group bookings such as ball teams, meetings, motorcycle and car clubs, weddings and other special events as well as serving as the point of contact for corporate travel.  She will also be directly involved in incorporating PFI Hospitality and The Hotel Seville's endeavor to positively impact the C.O.R.E. district of Harrison and the surrounding community.  According to Strain, local volunteerism will play a very important role in her new position.  "I'm very excited to be working with such organizations as The Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, North Arkansas Human Resources Association, Harrison Parks and Recreation, and C.O.R.E. to enhance our community and empower other citizens to participate in the preservation of Boone County. I strongly believe that investing in our community is the first step in actively supporting our effort to becoming "That Place" for events, as well as the first choice for lodging as a historic, yet trendy landmark that is a symbol of pride and heritage. I'm glad to be joining the PFI Hospitality team, a consumer driven organization that will work hard every day to exceed today's travelers' expectations."
Strain, a University of Arkansas graduate, has experience working in the high-traffic tourism market of Charleston, SC and more recently in the north central area of the Natural State in Batesville.  Her family includes fiancé Kyle Polston, and two sons, Kyle and Hunter Strain. "Since our move to northwest Arkansas, our family has been met with such positive community support.  We would like to thank the folks of Harrison for welcoming us and promise to commit an honest effort to continuously improving this city as it is our new home."
