One of the more frequent questions of visitors to our area concerns camping and Buffalo River. Understandable. Since the National Park Service manages the system, no one wants to break any federal laws - especially in the pursuit of a relaxing vacation.
Surpringly, the regulations are not that difficult to follow, and it is really quite easy to find campsites on the first national river. Here is a link to a list of pay sites and how to make reservations: Buffalo River Camping
For those people wanting to make an overnight camp trip via canoe, it is even easier. Quite simply, just find yourself a gravel bar along the way and you are free to spend the evening there. Just be sure to clean up and leave the area as if no one had ever been there.
We hope everyone gets an opportunity for a fall season stay in the Ozarks. It is not difficult, it is not expensive - but it will create great memories.
