Crappie are both scattered and on deep brush piles. The scattered fish will be following bait so if you can find a good concentrations of bait, especially around docks, the crappie won’t be far behind

Norfork Lake Striped Bass Fishing out of Hummingbird Hideaway Resort

By hummingbirdhideaway
It is a really fun time of year to fish Norfork Lake. You can catch striped bass in very deep water any time of day or up in the shallows after dark or very early in the morning. Yesterday I went for deep fish. Found roaming schools of striped bass 60 - 70 down while sitting in 90 ft of water. Vertical jigging with a spoon or live minnows are working well. The black bass and crappie  bite is also very good. If you don't mind the occassional cool weather (yesterday was 58 degrees) come down to fish the lake. Give Lou a call with your fishing questions or for reservations at 870-492-5113.

I have an updated fishing report blog on Norfork Lake at www.hummingbirdhideaway.blogspot.com. If you enjoy fishing, Norfork Lake is the place to be. Striped bass is our trophy fish and you can expect to catch fish in the 6 - 15 pound range but it is not uncommon to catch a 20 or 30 pounder. If bass fishing is your style we have a great fishery for large mouth, small mouth and spotted bass. Winter crappie fishing is in full swing and the big slabs have arrived on the brush. Walleye, catchfish and bluegill are also very good table fair caught out of Norfork Lake. If you have any questions or need a great place to stay call Lou or Linda at Hummingbird Hideaway Resort at 870-492-5113.
