The bass fishing on Norfork Lake at www.hummingbird-hideaway.com is still going strong. I finally used the new Alamaba rig this morning and it works. I put 5 - 3 inch Berkley's swimming minnows on the rig. I caught largemouth and spotted bass. To tell the ruth it is a heavey rig and you do get tired after a while of casting it.

The Norfork Lake largemouth bass, spotted bass and crappie bite is still going strong. Lou at www.hummingbird-hideaway.com has been catching bass and crappie daily. He has been fishing Cranfield, E. Pigeon, Pigeon, and the midlake major creek areas. Fish are being caught in 30 - 40 ft of water vertical jigging around brush.

Norfork Lake winter crappie fishing at its best. It seems like it is spring already and it's only  Febuary. Fish were in 35 - 40 ft. of water insde of the brush. It was difficult fishing because of strong northwest wind. Crappie and bass are currently the best bites on the lake.

I have talked a little about the winter bite for black bass on Norfork Lake, but you need to know that the crappie bite has been equally good. Big, big slabs are being caught.I fished Float Creek Wednesday morning and just slammed the fish. I caught crappie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass and white bass.

Here is another nice 5 pound Norfork Lake largemouth bass. The high water years we have had are really starting to show its effects. In two days I have caught over 40 bass in just a couple of hours per morning. What else has been just awesome has been the weather, it is 66 degrees in January.

Norfork Lake has become a premium bass fishing lake. Take a look at the size of these largemouth bass, 4.5 and 3 pounds, caught this morning back in East Pigeon Creek. But these were not the only fish caught, there were 18 others all caught between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. I was having so much fun I was laughing out loud.

The black bass and crappie bite on Norfork Lake has been outstanding. Even though most people in the area hated the high water that we had in 2008 and 2011, it appears the fish in Norfork Lake benefited.
