Blanchard Springs, the namesake of Blanchard Springs Caverns, gushes forth in a valley below the Caverns' Visitor Center. On average, the waters pour out at 7,000 gallons per minute. The cold, 58-degree water is dammed by a 1930's-era stone dam, forming Mirror Lake, which is stocked with trout.
