Hallelujah Hackles

My choir buddy and fellow fly fisher, Gil, reported two nice Rainbows this past week-end during low water. Soft hackles were the ticket and the more beat up the better. Since we were in church, I'll take Gil at his word.

Sometimes all it takes to change a mindset is a small bit of dynamic data. The river has been back in its bed for several weeks now; but unfortunately a lot of folks haven't received that message. They're still operating on the perception that there's flooding here and that simply isn't true. And the fishing is red-hot!

Stephanie and friends, Shar, Kim, and Justin stayed in our guesthouse a couple of week-ends ago. Little did we know, they would become some of our favorite clients. They had canoed the Buffalo in the past and were anxious to give the White a try.

The False Rue Anemone, found and photographed by my walking buddy Diane is only one of many wildflowers in brilliant bloom right now in the Twin Lakes area.
