Boat-Eating Tree Part 1

While sitting on her deck, my upriver neighbor watched a disaster unfold. Two men stood in their Jon boat fishing, completely unaware that their drifting boat had been captured by a tree behind them. In the flip of an eyelash, the boat begin to sink. Luckily some passing boaters rescued them. (See pictures in Angels Retreat Image Gallery)We have long preached to our customers about standing up in a boat. That the circumstances weren't more tragic is a great blessing for these two men. The river is often unforgiving and so are trees that have claimed their part of the stream for years.
