Harrison, Arkansas- Center for Ozark Mountain Activity on September 11^th – 13^th

(HARRISON, AR) – With the fall season beginning, Ozark Mountain routes, including the Moonshine Run and Peel’s Ferry, are all beginning to show signs of having magnificent color.  These spectacular drives with breathtaking sights are all preludes to a great stay in town with the 14^th annual Arkansas State Hot Air Balloon Championship and Big Smith Concert at the 1929 Lyric Theater. On, the weekend of September 11-13^th Harrison, Arkansas claims its stake as being the Center for Activity in the Ozark Mountains for the early fall.

Guests will enjoy the most scenic drives in the region on famed Highway 7, arriving by 7PM for the Balloon Glow as they are encouraged to overnight at our comfortable accommodations including our two newest properties, the Hampton Inn and the 1929 Hotel Seville and enjoy what is sure to be a special weekend.

Adventuresome guests may wake early to “Go into the Park” enjoying the Buffalo National River region just seven miles down Highway 7 with numerous walking trails, waterfalls, and of course Arkansas’ most photographed overlook, Hawks Bill Crag.  Be sure to make time to see the majestic Elk herd and Trumpeter Swans of Boxley Valley.  It is sure to impress the whole family.

Returning to Harrison mid-day, one can catch the Amazing Arkansas State Balloon Championships.  Beginning Friday at 7PM with the Balloon Glow, the event continues Saturday morning at 7:30 am and 5:30 PM and concludes Sunday morning.

Making the trip complete is great dining and entertainment, highlighted by the famed Ozark band, Big Smith performing in the 1929 Lyric Theater.  Expected to be a big crowd nearing capacity, BIG SMITH is well known for its raucous Acoustic Music that has captured the spirit of their native Ozark Mountain Region.
