About Us
Underground streams flow throughout the cavern with a small waterfall at the back of the cave. The caverns have been used by prehistoric natives, civil war soldiers and moonshiners. At 59 degrees year around the caverns are now home to bats, salamanders, frogs and camel crickets. The many natural formations are easy to view during guided cave tours along the well-lighted concrete trails; large gift shop and gemstone panning available.
Mountain Village 1890 is a historical representation of an Ozark settlement from the 1800’s. There are 9 main structures in Mountain Village 1890 and additional outbuildings, all of which have been brought here from various sites in the Ozark mountain region. Throughout the Village you will find actual tools, furnishings and farm equipment that marked the Ozark Mountain culture as unique. The Church at Mountain Village 1890 is available for private wedding ceremonies, by appointment only. Tours are self-guided; large gift shop and gemstone panning available.
