The White and North Fork Rivers are world famous for Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat and Brook trout. The White River is stocked by the Federal Wildlife Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Approximately 1.5 million 11-14" (1-2lbs) Rainbow trout are stocked in the river each year, in addition to fingerling stockings of the other 3 species.
The German Brown trout reproduce on their own and often range in size from 5 to 20 lbs., with occasional larger fish. The White River has been responsible for several world record Browns, and still holds several line class records.
Resorts, outfitters, and trout fishing guides on both the White and North Fork riversoffer everything you need for a successful Ozark trout fishing adventure regardless of the type of fishing preferred - Spin or Fly.
